Strengthening Municipal Partnerships and Sustainable Development: 153 Agreements Signed and Cooperation Efforts Advanced Among BRICS+ Cities 📝 Event Details: Event: BRICS+ International Municipal Forum (4th Session) Overall Theme: “People and the World: Developing Trends and Adapting to the New Reality” Venue: ExpoForum Exhibition and Convention Center – Saint Petersburg Participants: More than 3,200 in-person participants and 15,000 online participants, representing 37 countries from Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. 🌐 Key Development Outcomes and Results: International Recognition and Support for Sustainable Development: The Forum received special commendation in the “Beijing Declaration” of the 14th BRICS Summit as a key platform for strengthening partnerships between sister cities and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2030). Economic and Development Partnerships: The forum witnessed the signing of 153 agreements and memoranda of understanding, including: Food Security and Agriculture: Signing of agricultural supply contracts and support for supply chains worth millions of dollars, and discussions on major investment projects in the fertilizer and agricultural processing sectors. Academic and Technological Cooperation: Signing of research and scientific partnerships between universities and technological institutions in Egypt, Iran, China, and Russia to develop human resources and build capacity. Digital Transformation and Smart Cities: Sessions focused on e-government solutions, digital city management, environmental adaptation, and green development strategies in local communities. Expanding Regional Cooperation Frameworks: The forum witnessed the signing of agreements to represent and develop trade and development partnerships in the Arabian Gulf and the Middle East region. 💡 Dr. Hussein Mohammed Hussein Mustafa Jaafar's vision during the conference, where he was appointed as the official ambassador of the organizing committee of the International Municipal Forum of BRICS+ countries for the period 2022-2023: Supporting international initiatives and platforms that contribute to financing local development, strengthening partnerships between emerging economies and international blocs, and enabling municipalities to face economic and environmental challenges through sustainable solutions.”
