High-Level Meeting at the Permanent Representation of the Komi Republic Approves Prospects for Economic, Health, and Tourism Cooperation with African Nations

A joint working meeting was held at the Permanent Mission of the Komi Republic to the President of the Russian Federation, bringing together Dr. Hussein Arif and the Permanent Representative of the Komi Republic, to discuss opportunities for economic partnership and enhance trade and tourism between Russian regions and African countries. The meeting reviewed the natural resources and promising investment opportunities of the Komi Republic, particularly the utilization of wild deer antlers, a rich strategic resource used in the extraction of high-value medicinal and therapeutic compounds and preparations. Key areas of cooperation agreed upon for development include: Investment in pharmaceuticals: Exploring the prospects for exporting and utilizing therapeutic components extracted from deer antlers and other natural resources abundant in the Komi Republic to meet the needs of the pharmaceutical and healthcare markets. Trade and food security: Discussing mutually beneficial exchange mechanisms based on the supply of fruits and vegetables produced in African countries to the Komi Republic, which contributes to diversifying supply chains and strengthening mutual food security. Tourism Promotion: Coordination to attract tourists and delegations from African countries to experience the rich natural beauty and unique environmental and cultural attractions of the Republic of Komi, and to develop joint tourism programs. At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of transforming these initiatives into a concrete action plan that enhances trade volume and opens new horizons for investment and comprehensive integration between the two sides.
