Международный фонд развития возглавляет усилия по содействию технологическому партнерству и промышленным связям между египетскими провинциями и регионами России.
In a move to strengthen the Egyptian-Russian partnership, an expanded meeting was held between Beni Suef Technological University, Arka Company, and the International Development Fund.
Cairo witnessed a high-level meeting between Professor Dr. Sayed Abdel-Qader Ahmed (who has held several prominent academic positions at Beni Suef University, is a certified environmental consultant with the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency, and a member of the Beni Suef Governorate Executive Council), representing Beni Suef Technological University, and representatives of Arka Company. The meeting, held in coordination and cooperation with the International Development Fund, headed by Dr. Hussein Aref, aimed to explore ways to enhance academic, industrial, and commercial cooperation between Egyptian governorates and Russian regions.
This meeting took place within the framework of extensive and positive discussions focused on developing prospects for scientific and technological exchange and linking research outputs to the needs of the industrial and development sectors in both countries.
Key outcomes of the talks and discussions:
Exploring technological twinning between governorates and regions: The parties agreed in their discussions on the possibility of launching an initiative to establish a twinning program between Beni Suef Technological University and a leading Russian regional technical university. This would facilitate direct integration at the governorate and local government leadership levels on both sides.
Transfer of expertise and addressing environmental challenges: The proposed academic twinning program will serve as a platform for transferring modern technologies and exchanging expertise to address environmental and societal challenges in Egypt, primarily developing advanced solutions for waste treatment and recycling.
Technical support for Russian companies: Beni Suef Technological University will provide the necessary technical support, consultations, and environmental expertise to Russian companies wishing to establish their production lines in Egypt.
Investing in natural and medicinal resources: Highlighting the rich resources of Beni Suef Governorate in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants. For example, jasmine contains up to 12 active ingredients, making the region a strategically attractive location for the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics in cooperation with Russian investments.
Coordination for official and field visits: Discussions are underway to organize a future program of reciprocal visits involving governors, heads of technical universities, and investment delegations from both sides. This program will include protocol meetings and field visits to factories, universities, and research centers.
These positive discussions complement the vision of the International Development Fund and its partners in supporting economic and scientific diplomacy, and in translating understandings into tangible development projects that serve the national economy and strengthen relations with friendly countries.
